Further introduction

The sculpture was developed as a dementia inclusive brief with groups such as William Simpson Care Home, and participants from across the area, including the Tryst Care Home in Callander. The project was funded through the Life Changes Trust.

School children from Allan’s Primary School, have created artworks inspired by the design as part of the engagement.

Young People from the Stirling 4 Families groups at the Top of the Town in Stirling also participated, and there has been engagement with local councillors and residents.

The sculpture aims to create a realistic and less abstract representation of a leaping Wolf. As this is easier to identify and understand. The bright metal gives a high contrast to help those with any visual impairment recognise the form and develop an understanding and interpretation of the piece.

There is some embossing of words used within the piece to help tell the story of this part of Stirling’s history.
